Meet Susan, a New Trier High School graduate with hearing loss whose life was disrupted by COVID. Losing her job and relying on lip-reading became challenging with masks, leaving her isolated. In spring 2022, Susan turned to TotalLink for support.

We discovered she thrives in the morning, loves organization, and adores the color purple.

Thanks to a family connection, Susan visited Marshalls and immediately shined while organizing displays. One interview later, she was hired. 

With strategies like asking coworkers to write things down, Susan works independently, contributes to the team, and enjoys using her employee discount to buy new purple clothes.
