About Us

Our Mission

TotalLink to Community's mission is to empower adults with disabilities to thrive by working, socializing, learning, and contributing to our communities - making their families, workplaces, and communities better for it.

Our Vision

TotalLink to Community's vision is for inclusive communities that allow people of all abilities to live full and meaningful lives.

At TotalLink, we are redefining what’s possible for people with disabilities—and for our communities.

We are change agents, setting the standard for how individuals with disabilities connect, contribute, and thrive. Through customized employment services, lifelong learning, and inclusive social experiences, we help people build lives filled with purpose, confidence, and connection.

What We Do

At TotalLink, we start with the person. We listen, learn, and support individuals with disabilities to build the lives they want—on their terms. Whether it’s gaining meaningful employment, growing social connections, or increasing independence, we meet people where they are and walk alongside them every step of the way.

Our work falls into three core areas:

  • Customized Employment – helping people find and keep jobs that align with their strengths and passions

  • Lifelong Learning – offering skill-building, leadership, and personal growth opportunities

  • Social Enrichment – creating spaces to form friendships, engage with peers, and feel part of something bigger

How We Do It

Inclusion starts with connection.

TotalLink brings individuals with disabilities and community members together—in workplaces, learning environments, and social spaces—so that people can see firsthand the talents, contributions, and value each person brings to the community. These authentic connections shift perceptions, break down stereotypes, and foster a culture where everyone is recognized as a vital and valued member of the community. These moments break down barriers, shift attitudes, and change lives.

We are proud to be a leader in inclusive employment in Illinois. Our team works one-on-one with job seekers and employers to create personalized employment matches. To date, we’ve placed over 190 people in competitive, inclusive jobs that reflect their abilities and passions.

We make it easy for employers by offering:

  • Job customization and placement support

  • On-site coaching and staff training

  • Ongoing consultation for success and sustainability

Why We Do It

In Illinois, the current disability funding model often limits choice. Families are too often forced into restrictive, one-size-fits-all options to receive support.

At TotalLink, we challenge that model. We create real alternatives that empower people to live, work, and thrive in the community, with the right supports in place.

Who We Serve

We proudly serve:

  • Adults with disabilities and their families

  • Employers seeking inclusive hiring solutions

  • Community organizations and allies that want to be part of the change

Our services are accessible through:

  • Department of Rehabilitation Services (DRS)

  • Private pay

  • Fee-for-service programs

Public funding and fees cover only about 40% of what it takes to deliver our impact. We depend on the generosity of donors, sponsors, and community partners to fill the gap.
