Transportation Support
Subsidized Taxicab Program:
The Northbrook Village's Subsidized Taxicab Program offers residents of incorporated Northbrook who have a disability an affordable transportation option. The program utilizes an electronic swipe card (ESC) to offset the metered fare. At the beginning of each month, 16 ride subsidies are automatically loaded to the participant's ESC. Each ride subsidy has a value of $5. Learn more at northbrook.il.us/taxi
Facebook Group
There is a new Facebook group for parents, families, and support people of TotalLink participants called 'Link2 Families - connecting families of TotalLink.' The group's goal is to build community and connect through hangouts outside of our programs. It was a group created by a few TotalLink parents so everyone can share outing ideas, plan get-togethers, and share resources with others in the TotalLink community. If your adult is on a waitlist for a program, wants to get together with friends outside of programs, or if you are looking for additional resources other families may know, this may be a great place to start. While TotalLink is not running this group, we fully support our participants in fostering friendships outside of programs.
TotalLink Phonebook
Connect with other TotalLink friends and families. The mission of the TotalLink Phonebook is for our young adults and families to connect with one another and build relationships outside of TotalLink. This may be for setting up carpooling to programs, inviting friends to a special occasion, for parent communication, or for connecting with other young adults.
