First-Time Volunteer FAQ

Is there an age requirement?

Most of our roles are for adults (18+), but we have student opportunities for those 16 and up.

I’ve never volunteered with adults with disabilities - am I okay?
Absolutely! Most volunteers start where you are. We’ll guide you.

How much time do I need?
As much or as little as you can give—we offer one-time, short-term, or ongoing opportunities.

I have a specific skill (like accounting or video editing). Can I use it?

We love "skills-based" volunteering. Let us know what you're good at, and we'll find a way to plug you in.

Can I volunteer with friends or coworkers?
Yes! Group and corporate volunteer days are always welcome.

What if I prefer behind-the-scenes work?
Perfect! Admin, creative, fundraising, grant support, and board roles are all needed.
