Lee set big goals when he started at Trader Joe’s - and he’s proud to say he achieved them all.
He increased his hours from four to twelve per week, expanded his responsibilities from stocking, carts, bagging, and customer service to also working as a cashier, and transitioned to working independently without job coach support. As a bonus, his confidence and quality of life have grown alongside his skills.
“I feel welcomed, and what I do is important,” Lee shared. “I enjoy learning different jobs and am proud to be a cashier on my own. Everyone is friendly and helps me until I can do it myself.”
His mom, Ronni, says Lee is happier and more self-confident, and crew members often share how much they enjoy working with him. Lee’s journey highlights the power of an inclusive, supportive workplace.
